Committee: ISDA European Government Relations Working Group

This group had its roots in the derivatives working group established by the European Commission to look at derivatives (with a European CCP for CDS being the first priority) in Autumn 2008. The group involves government relations experts and contributes to evaluation and response to proposals from international banking and securities regulators as well as pan-European and individual country legislators.

Committee: ISDA European Accounting Working Group

The purpose of the European Accounting Working Group (EAWG) is to create a forum for preparers of financial statements to meet and discuss technical accounting matters and practice issues under standards created or discussed by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and other relevant standard-setting and regulatory bodies such as the European Commission (EC) and the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG). The EAWG provides a forum for members to exchange and develop views on a wide range of derivatives topics including: netting and offsetting, cleared and non-cleared derivatives, IBOR reform, OIS discounting, hedge accounting, disclosure practices, fair value measurement, control and valuation matters.

The International Financial Instruments Technical Accounting Group (InFITAG) was launched to discuss members’ technical accounting issues and focuses on matters arising from the practical application of existing IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards. This forum is open only to members working in financial institutions and the discussions are confidential.
