ISDA is committed to promoting equality and creating an inclusive workplace for all. As a proud signatory of the Race at Work Charter, we are dedicated to taking meaningful action to support racial equality and foster diversity across our organization. By joining this initiative, we continue to strengthen our efforts to ensure that our workplace is as inclusive as possible.
This Charter comprises five key calls to action for leaders and organizations across all sectors. By signing the Race at Work Charter, ISDA commit to taking practical steps to address the barriers that ethnic minority individuals encounter in recruitment and career advancement.
The Charter – Five Calls to Action, ISDA Will:
- Appoint an Executive Sponsor for race. Tara Kruse, our Global Head of Derivative Products and Infrastructure, has been appointed as our Executive Sponsor to lead on race and ethnicity initiatives. Tara will sponsor ISDA’s efforts to set diversity targets focused on racial equality across our organization;
- Capture ethnicity data and publicise progress. Capturing ethnicity data is key to setting a baseline, tracking progress, and enabling ethnicity pay reporting;
- Commit at Board level to zero tolerance of harassment and bullying. The Race at Work Survey found that 25% of ethnic minority employees reported racial harassment or bullying by managers, highlighting the need for top-level commitment to drive change;
- Make clear that supporting equality in the workplace is the responsibility of all leaders and managers. Actions can include setting performance objectives for leaders to uphold fairness for all staff;
- Take action that supports ethnic minority career progression. Actions can include implementing mentoring, reverse mentoring, and sponsorship;
Our commitment:
“At ISDA, we are proud that our employees represent a vast variety of countries, backgrounds and cultures. It is our strong belief that our diversity of people brings a wealth of experience and perspectives, giving us a competitive advantage that benefits our Members and the wider industry and is a vital component to our success. We recognize that achieving true diversity and inclusion, particularly for those from minority ethnic backgrounds requires ongoing effort, accountability, and collaboration. Together, we will continue to build a culture that celebrates our differences and drives our mission forward.”
