ISDA is proud to be a signatory to the Working with Cancer Pledge (#WorkingWithCancer), which aims to build a supportive workplace for those living with cancer or caring for someone impacted whilst at work. Our employees’ wellbeing is paramount, and our aim is to make sure they feel safe and able to share and receive the help they need. We recognize the profound impact that cancer can have on the lives of individuals, our employees, and their loved ones, and we firmly believe in fostering a recovery-forward and compassionate workplace environment, where our employees feel valued, respected, and cared for during their journey with cancer. We pledge to –
- Provide comprehensive support: Our policies and resources detail how we support employees. They are easily accessible and clearly communicated to all employees. The support extends to employees diagnosed with cancer, including those employees who are caring for someone with cancer or any other serious health diagnosis.
- Consider the Individual: Each person’s experience is unique, and we will work with individuals on a case-by-case basis to explore and implement adjustments. We will strive to provide the necessary resources, understanding, kindness and care to help employees navigate their cancer journey with dignity. We will encourage access to our support framework and resources, which include (but are not limited to): private healthcare cover, preventive healthcare and screenings, counselling services and employee assistance program, flexible working, phased return-to-work and other accommodations as appropriate.
- Creating Awareness: Through regular communications, we intend to raise awareness around our commitment and the support framework we have in place. We aim to reduce stigma by taking the first step to start the dialogue with our employees. We pledge to ensure regular communication to all employees as best practice.
- Upskilling: We will work with subject matter experts both internally and externally, to upskill our leaders, line managers and our people so that they can better support others living with cancer and their caregivers in the moments that matter.
